Our story
Hello! We’re Mayra and Johnny, the owners of Black Diamond Party Rentals, proudly serving San Diego. We started this business after quickly realizing that we make a strong team and share the same work ethic and vision.
My name is Johnny, and I’ve built my career around quality service and reliability. I own and operate a successful pest control company that has served San Diego for over five years, supported by more than fifteen years of industry experience. I enjoy meeting new people, working hard, and continuously finding ways to improve, which led me to take on a new venture in the party rental industry—something that felt like a natural fit alongside my existing business. I also bring hands-on event experience from working with a catering company, where I assisted with delivering tables and chairs and helping with event setups, giving me a strong understanding of what it takes to create smooth, well-executed events. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through fitness and training in jiu-jitsu.
Hi! I’m Mayra. Creating beautiful spaces has always come naturally to me. My eye for detail and love for going above and beyond is what led to me becoming the go-to decorator at all of my family events. Because of that, my boyfriend and I decided to combine our strengths and take a chance on creating Black Diamond. I’m excited to bring the same care and creativity I put into my own celebrations to each and every one of my clients. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to connect and communicate with a wider range of people. When I’m not helping clients create unforgettable events, I work as a preschool teacher supporting military families. I grew up in beautiful San Diego and love exploring new coffee shops, trying new restaurants, and watching scary movies.
