About Us

Our Story

 

Hello, our names are Mayra and Johnny, and we are the owners of Black Diamond Party Rentals here in San Diego. We decided to open a business together after realizing very quickly that we make an excellent team.

A little about us:
I, Johnny, also own a successful pest control business that has been operating in San Diego for five years, and I’ve been in the industry for a total of fifteen years. I enjoy meeting new people, working hard, and constantly improving myself. I wanted to try something new while continuing to run my existing business, so stepping into the rental industry felt like the right move. I also have experience in the rental business from my previous job at a catering company, where I delivered chairs and tables and handled event setups. In my free time, I enjoy working out and training in jiu-jitsu.

 Hi! I’m Mayra. Creating beautiful spaces has always come naturally to me. My eye for detail and love for going above and beyond is what led to me becoming the go-to decorator at all of my family events. Because of that, my boyfriend and I decided to combine our strengths and take a chance on creating Black Diamond. I’m excited to bring the same care and creativity I put into my own celebrations to each and every one of my clients. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to connect and communicate with a wider range of people. When I’m not helping clients create unforgettable events, I work as a preschool teacher supporting military families. I grew up in beautiful San Diego and love exploring new coffee shops, trying new restaurants, and watching scary movies.
